According to data from China State Railway Group Co., Ltd, the operator of China's railways, more than 105 million passengers were handled from Sept. 29, when the National Day travel boom began, to Oct. 4.
Between September 30 and October 4, the national railways handled more than 17 million passengers a day, and on October 1 that number exceeded 21 million, setting a new single-day record.
