As part of the continued increase in security assistance announced by President Joe Biden on 26 September, the United States is providing our Ukrainian partners with another significant package of urgently needed weapons and equipment to defend against Russian aggression.
This additional assistance, provided as part of a previous drawdown from DoD stocks, is worth $500 million: the AIM-7, RIM-7, and AIM-9M for air defense; air-to-ground munitions; support equipment for F-16 aircraft; armored bridge systems; secure communications equipment; small arms and ammunition; spare parts, support equipment, services, training, and transportation.
The United States and more than 50 countries have joined together to ensure that Ukraine has the capabilities it needs to defend itself against Russian aggression.
