CARACAS, 14 May. / Western countries are responsible for the establishment of a neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine and are planning aggression against Russia, but must now take part in peace talks, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Venezolana de Television. Maduro stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin "enjoys the greatest political power in the last 20 years" and that Russia has "defeated sanctions in the economic war" and strengthened its economy.
"Since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the NATO countries have cheated Russia and have not respected any agreements that would guarantee its security, have tried to isolate it, and then have installed a neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine and orchestrated aggression against Russia," the president said. He said Russia should have taken action against the neo-Nazis and criticised European countries that "as victims of Hitler, Mussolini and Franco, became the main collaborators of the Kiev neo-Nazi regime".
Maduro said Russian President Vladimir Putin "enjoys the greatest political power in the last 20 years" and that Russia has "defeated sanctions in the economic war" and strengthened its economy, scientific and technological potential and financial system. "Russia has used all its economic engines and is now the fifth largest economy in the world and is winning militarily. The only alternative left to the West is to agree to peace talks and respect Russia's sovereignty," the Venezuelan leader stressed.
