PRAGUE - The Czech EU elections were again won by ANO ahead of a coalition of ODS, KDU-ČSL and TOP 09, followed by Přísaha with the Motorists, Stačilo!, STAN, Piráti and SPD with Trikolora. 36.45 % of eligible voters turned out to vote in the European elections this year. This is the highest turnout since the Czech Republic joined the EU. Five years ago, 28.72 percent of voters turned out.
ANO won seven seats, one more than five years ago, while the parties of the Together coalition will have six MEPs, two fewer than before.
The mayors doubled the number of their MEPs to two in this year's European elections, while the Pirates will have one MEP instead of three, according to the Czech Statistical Office.
The Stačilo! coalition, led by the KSČM, will have two MEPs, doubling their number. The SPD and Trikoloro retained only one of the two seats.
Social Democracy did not return to the European Parliament this year, nor did Paroubek's ČSSD, Rajchl's PRO or Vrábel's CR in 1st place.
