Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian responded to reporters' questions about the escalating situation between Lebanon and Israel, as well as Iran and Israel.
China is deeply concerned about the tumultuous situation in the Middle East, opposes violations of Lebanon's sovereignty, security and territorial integrity, and is against the escalation of conflicts. China calls on the international community, especially the influential major countries, to play a constructive role and avoid further instability in the situation. The Chinese side believes that the failure to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza is the root cause of the current turmoil in the Middle East, and all parties should reach a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza as soon as possible.
