President Xi Jinping attended the 16th BRICS Summit, where he put forward several key challenges for strengthening cooperation among member countries. Xi stressed the need for high quality BRICS cooperation and called for building a community focused on peace, security and justice.
Xi presented three principles for de-escalating the Ukraine crisis: no battlefield expansion, no escalation of the conflict and no provocation. He also proposed the establishment of ten training centers in BRICS countries to provide training for administrators, teachers, and students.
The President also stressed the growing urgency of reforming the international financial architecture and called on the BRICS to lead the reform of global governance. He also supported the development of "green BRICS" and sustainable development in the areas of green industries and clean energy.
Xi also announced that BRICS plans to invite new countries as partners and continue the expansion process, making BRICS the main center of cooperation for the global South and the vanguard of global governance changes.
