Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Chinese President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, on Tuesday extended festive greetings to members of non-communist political parties, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), non-party-affiliated personalities and other members of the united front ahead of Spring Festival (Chinese New Year).
Xi conveyed these wishes during an annual meeting with non-CP Chinese personalities at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
In his speech, Xi recalled that 2025 was an exceptional year. Facing profound and difficult changes at home and abroad, the CPC Central Committee united the leadership of the entire Party and the Chinese people to overcome difficulties and work hard to achieve the year's major economic and social goals.
These hard-won achievements, he said, are the result of strong Party leadership and the concerted efforts of all Chinese, including members of non-communist parties, ACFIC, and individuals without Party affiliation.
Taking into account that 2026 marks the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Xi called on non-communist political parties, ACFICs and individuals without party affiliation to actively carry out their duties and contribute to the implementation of the decisions and plans of the CPC Central Committee.
He stressed the need to strengthen political leadership, consolidate unity, contribute to the country's development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period and improve its own development to show the new face of the political parties and forces involved in the administration of the state under socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Xi also called for strict improvement in conduct and discipline to foster a healthy political environment.
Also attending the meeting were Wang Huning, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Cai Qi, Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, who are also members of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.
