BEIJING, Jan. 10 (Xinhua) -- The achievements in Sino-U.S. relations can be attributed mainly to the joint efforts of the peoples of the two countries, Chinese President Xi Jinping said.
Xi Jinping made the remarks in his Thursday response to a letter sent to him by Sarah Lande, his girlfriend who lives in the US state of Iowa.
Mr Xi Jinping noted that China is the world's largest developing country and the United States is the world's largest developed country, and said that the future of the planet requires stable and better relations between China and the United States.
Mr Xi Jinping also said that China is ready to work with the United States to promote the stable, healthy and sustainable development of bilateral relations.
