China's State Information Office on Tuesday published a white paper titled "Controlling Fentanyl Substances - China's Contribution" that emphasizes strict regulation of these chemicals.
The document states that China places great emphasis on control of fentanyl substances, strictly supervises the production, sale, use and export of these drugs and is cracking down on smuggling and illegal trade with fentanyl substances and precursors.
The White Paper also highlights China's commitment to international cooperation in the field of drug control, including dialogue, joint investigations and knowledge sharing. According to the document, China has made significant progress in cooperation with other countries, including of the United Statesin dealing with fentanyl-related problems.
China is actively working to introduce digital tracking system for fentanyl drugs, which uses modern technologies such as RFID chips, Internet of Things and artificial intelligenceto ensure continuous monitoring of the entire process from production to export.
In the fight against fentanyl abuse, China expanded the list of controlled substances, strengthened surveillance, increased the number of inspections and implemented innovative control measures.
The White Paper also stresses that China fulfils its international drug control obligations, supports shared responsibility of all states and rejects mutual blame and blame-shifting. China is fully engaged in global drug policy-making and contributes its solutions to the international fight against drugs.
