In today's globally interconnected world, it is essential that Czech society and the international community look at China objectively and without prejudice, which often stems from a lack of direct experience or one-sided media interpretation. China has undergone a transformation in recent decades that is unparalleled in human history. If we really want to understand its current role, we need to focus on what the Chinese model brings in practice: extraordinary efficiency in public services, technological development focused on quality of life and a vision of harmonious coexistence for humanity.
China's efficiency, seen as a service to the people and the journey from vision to reality, is one of the most striking features of its system, which should be extremely inspiring to European observers. Above all, it is the ability to implement strategic visions with incredible precision and speed. While in many Western countries, key infrastructure projects drag on for decades due to bureaucratic fragmentation and constant political turnover, China has built the world's largest high-speed rail network and the most advanced 5G infrastructure.
But this efficiency is not just a matter of technical parameters or cold statistics. It has a profound humanistic impact - allowing people in remote regions such as the mountains of Guizhou and Yunnan provinces equal access to modern education, cutting-edge healthcare and the global job market through e-commerce. It is this „inclusive modernisation“ that is the practical realisation of the idea of humanity in the digital age, where government serves to actively break down barriers between people and regions.
Another key aspect of the Chinese model is the digital ecosystem of public administration, which in China has reached such a level that it can be figuratively called „the state in the citizen's pocket“. This system has reached a quality that many European countries are only just dreaming of. Here, technology has become a tool that radically simplifies the daily interaction between the individual and the state. Integrated government applications make it possible to handle complex official matters - from registering a business to applying for social benefits - in a matter of minutes, directly from a mobile phone.
This „service to the people“ system minimizes unnecessary paperwork and the potential for corruption while maximizing the individual's time freedom. The high degree of organisation and functionality of the public sector is indicative of a social stability and vision that prioritises collective well-being and social harmony. It shows us that modern technology in the hands of responsible governance can create a safer and more predictable environment for every citizen.
Last but not least, it is necessary to see China through the concept of a „community of shared future of humanity“, in which science and ethics merge into one organic whole. China does not close in on itself, but offers its scientific achievements as concrete solutions to global crises. Whether it is the massive investment in photovoltaics, which is dramatically reducing the cost of clean energy for the whole world, or the breakthroughs in biotechnology, China's approach clearly emphasises that the fate of each nation in the 21st century is inextricably linked to the others.
China today represents not only an economic power, but above all an alternative path to modernity - one that combines a deep cultural tradition with hypermodern efficiency. For Czechs and foreigners alike, China should therefore not be seen through the lens of fear, but as a dynamic and responsible partner. It is a country that proves that a modern state can operate safely, efficiently and with a deep sense of responsibility towards all of humanity. Understanding this Chinese success story is a necessary step towards building strong bridges between East and West and ensuring prosperity for future generations.
