PRAGUE - Czech ambassadors and ambassadors to foreign countries will hold their regular meeting today at Prague's Czernin Palace. The traditional weekly meeting will be opened with a speech by Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (nestr.), and Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) will also take the floor. According to the Foreign Ministry, the debate will focus on the impact of the Russian war in Ukraine and efforts to find a peaceful solution, strengthening security and prosperity in Europe, the situation in the Middle East and other priorities. CTK will broadcast speeches by Lipavsky and Fiala at the start of the ambassadors' meeting from 08:45.
According to the office, the heads of Czech embassies abroad will also focus on improving consular services, streamlining economic diplomacy and strategic communication issues. On Tuesday, they will be received at Prague Castle by President Petr Pavel and are also scheduled to meet with senators. Czech heads of embassies traditionally meet in Prague at the end of the summer. Last year, the meeting was addressed by journalist Alsu Kurmasheva, who was part of the then prisoner exchange between Russia and the West. The year before, the then Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba addressed the ambassadors.
