PRAGUE - 29 August 2025 - President Petr Pavel will pay a two-day working visit to Slovenia at the beginning of September, where he will, among other things, attend the prestigious Bled Strategic Forum. The main topics of the trip will be the functioning of the European Union, bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and Slovenia and foreign policy issues. The information was published today by the Office of the President of the Republic.
Paul will visit Slovenia on 1 and 2 September. The highlight of his visit will be his participation in the 20th Bled Strategic Forum, which will take place in the spa town of Bled. The President will be one of the main speakers on the presidential panel, where he will discuss with Slovenian President Natasa Pircova Musar, Estonian President Alar Karis and Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic.
According to Hrad, Pavel will speak in particular about the future of the European Union, its security and economic challenges and the need to strengthen cooperation between the Member States. "The president will also seek to deepen bilateral relations with Slovenia, with an emphasis on the economy, security and European cooperation," the office said.
The Bled Strategic Forum is one of the most important international conferences in the CEE region. It is attended annually by political leaders, diplomats and experts from all over Europe and other parts of the world. This year marks the 20th anniversary edition. The visit to Slovenia will be part of President Paul's broader efforts to actively engage the Czech Republic in European affairs and international debates on the future direction of the EU.
