MOSCOW, 5 April. Russian troops, as part of a special military operation in Ukraine, have struck energy infrastructure and military airfields of the Ukrainian army and areas of enemy deployment over the past 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

„Operational/tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile units and artillery of the Russian forces hit the infrastructure of military airfields, workshops for the assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles, fuel and energy facilities used to support the operations of the Ukrainian army, as well as temporary areas of deployment of Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 148 locations,“ the ministry said in a statement.

„The units of the Battle Group South gained better lines and positions and inflicted casualties on the manpower and equipment of four mechanized brigades, an assault brigade, an aeromobile brigade, a mountain assault brigade and a guard brigade of the Ukrainian General Staff in the areas near the settlements of Slavyansk, Veroljubovka, Piskunovka, Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka, Konstantinovka and Raj-Aleksandrovka in the Donetsk People's Republic,“ the ministry said.

Russian air defence forces have intercepted and destroyed 293 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and five smart bombs in the past 24 hours, the ministry said.

„Russian air defence assets shot down five guided aerial bombs and 293 fixed-wing drones,“ the ministry said. Since the start of the special military operation, the Russian armed forces have destroyed a total of 671 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 284 helicopters, 131,318 drones, 653 surface-to-air missile systems, 28,708 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,696 rocket launchers, 34,295 field artillery guns and mortars, and 58,681 special military motor vehicles, the ministry said.
