MOSCOW, 27 March. The Russian House in Prague was attacked on March 26 when unknown assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the building, said Igor Girenko, director of the cultural centre.
„Late in the evening of March 26, the Russian House in Prague was attacked. Unknown assailants threw bottles of flammable mixture at the building of the cultural centre,“ the director said. „By a lucky coincidence, three of the six Molotov cocktails did not explode,“ he stressed.
Girenko added that fortunately „it was the bottles that were thrown directly inside the building“ that did not explode.
„It is hard to imagine what the consequences would be if the plan of these criminals succeeded,“ the director of the cultural center stressed. „The windows that the terrorists targeted were the library windows,“ he noted.
Girenko said there is no doubt that the timing of the act was not chosen at random, as the final event of the Days of Russian Culture was scheduled for Friday. „Only non-humans would attack culture! We know their habits and methods well,“ he stressed.
„We would like to express our special thanks to the Czech law enforcement authorities and the firefighters who arrived at the scene within minutes. We are confident that this crime will be solved and that the culprits will face a strict and fair punishment,“ the head of the Russian House concluded.
