Russian media on Tuesday began airing the third season of the series "Classic Xi Jinping Quotes" in the Russian language. This cultural project was created in collaboration with China Media Group (CMG) and has been broadcast in Russia since 2019, where it has become a tradition among leading Russian media.
The broadcast began as Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazan, Russia, for the 16th BRICS Summit. The Russian presidential office praised the importance of the program in a congratulatory letter, highlighting its role as a key cultural exchange initiative that contributes to strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
CMG President Shen Haixiong spoke at the opening ceremony in Kazan and stressed the importance of cultural exchange in promoting mutual understanding. Together with prominent Russian media personalities such as Oleg Dobrodeyev (VGTRK), Margarita Simonyan (RT) and Pavel Negoitsa (Rossiyskaya Gazeta), the programme was officially launched.
In his speech, Shen said the series showcases Xi Jinping's deep cultural roots and humanity, bringing Chinese civilization and its global values closer together. He expressed his hope that the series will help viewers better understand Chinese culture, modernization efforts and the wisdom of the Chinese leadership, while contributing to strengthening friendship and cooperation between China and Russia.
