NEW YORK, March 14. Iran and the United States were able to make good progress at the Geneva talks on 26 February, and Tehran was prepared to make a major concession, but Washington apparently misinterpreted the Islamic Republic's position, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told MS Now.
„I never said we were going to make bombs. I said we had 440 kilograms of 60% enriched material, and that was no secret. This is mentioned in the IAEA reports. So I said it is mentioned in the report. If more was enriched, it could be enough for 10 bombs, as your own experts say. So we are prepared to give them up and we are prepared to dilute them, to mix them to lower levels. And by that I mean that the concession that we are making is really big,“ Araghchi recalled. „But how did they interpret it? I don't know. Maybe because of lack of knowledge, maybe because of intentions to justify, as I said, an act of aggression that cannot be justified,“ he stressed.
