On October 28, the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee met to discuss the "Comprehensive Report on the Third Round of Inspections of the CPC Central Committee of the 20th Congress." General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the meeting.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the inspections have brought progress in strengthening party discipline and organization in central state institutions and financial organizations. At the same time, shortcomings that need to be corrected were identified. Emphasis was placed on political accountability of leaders, coordination and day-to-day supervision of the implementation of corrective measures. Inspections are to be linked to reforms, rigorous Party leadership and the promotion of high quality development.
Xi Jinping stressed the need to strictly implement the goals set at the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Chinese Communist Party Congress, strengthen coordination between development and security, and continue the fight against corruption. He said it is crucial to maintain long-term prevention and effective handling of corruption problems, which should be integrated into the Party's daily management and operation.
