PRAGUE - The Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic has approved an amendment to the Labour Code, which brings a number of important changes in the area of labour relations. The amendment responds to the current needs of the labour market and European legislative requirements. The key changes concern in particular telework, rules for contract workers, digitisation of documentation and simplification of communication between employees and employers. For example, the obligation to have a written home office agreement, the extension of the employer's information obligation towards the employee and new conditions for the scheduling of working time are introduced. The aim of the amendment is to increase the flexibility of the labour market while maintaining legal certainty and protection of employees. The law is now expected to head for the President's signature and subsequently enter into force later this year. The changes may significantly affect the day-to-day operations of many companies and workers themselves.
