{"id":29723,"date":"2025-06-17T09:48:43","date_gmt":"2025-06-17T07:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gnews.cz\/?p=29723"},"modified":"2025-06-20T09:51:41","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T07:51:41","slug":"china-called-for-the-lifting-of-unilateral-sanctions-in-the-un","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gnews.cz\/en\/prectete-si\/cina-v-osn-vyzvala-ke-zruseni-jednostrannych-sankci\/","title":{"rendered":"China called for lifting unilateral sanctions at the UN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>New York, 17 June - China's representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, has strongly criticised unilateral coercive measures that he says undermine international law, damage state sovereignty and impede global development.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his speech, he said that these sanctions - often applied by Western states - violate basic human rights in the target countries, such as the right to life, health and development. They also undermine collective decision-making mechanisms, such as the authority of the UN Security Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Fu Cung, measures such as financial embargoes, trade restrictions and long-arm jurisdictions cause humanitarian crises, hinder the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and increase global inequalities. They disrupt international trade and technological cooperation and destabilise global supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fu called on UN member states to reject these practices and help the affected countries.
