The four-year average growth rate is 5.5 %, an unprecedented result for such a large economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, China has invested heavily in R&amp;D, which has grown by nearly 50 % since 2020, and the number of private enterprises has exceeded 58 million. People's quality of life has improved in health, transport and social security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the country has accelerated its transition to a green economy, with clean energy accounting for more than one-third of consumption and CO\u2082 emissions reduced by more than a billion tonnes. According to Zheng Shanjie, \"green is becoming the defining colour of China's quality development\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yuan Da, Secretary-General of the NDRC, stressed that domestic demand remained a key driver of growth.
