In response to Japanese Prime Minister Sana Takaichi's recent statement about a significant increase in military spending, a revision of the Pacific Constitution and the possible development of strategic weapons, he said that these steps send a worrying signal to the region.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_1\"><em>\u201eFor many decades, Japan has been seen as a country that has learned from its own past. The Pacific Constitution was a direct response to the horrors of World War II and the militarism that brought suffering to millions of Asians. Today, however, we are witnessing a departure from these principles,\u201c <\/em>Havr\u00e1nek said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_2\">He recalled historical events such as the Nanking Massacre, the systematic murder of civilians, mass rapes and the infamous biological experiments on humans. <em>\u201eAsia remembers. When a country with such a legacy starts to reconsider the projection of military power, it must logically raise concerns not only in China but in the entire region,\u201c <\/em>he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_3\">Havr\u00e1nek also pointed to the growing sensitivity around the Taiwan issue. <em>\u201eIf the Japanese Prime Minister is hinting at the possibility of military involvement in the Taiwan issue, this is not a defensive measure, but a direct intervention in the most sensitive geopolitical issue in East Asia. It could destabilise the economy, damage trade relations and jeopardise decades of peace,\u201c<\/em> he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_4\">According to Havranek, Japan faces a crucial choice. <em>\u201eHe has a unique historical experience and knows where militarism leads. It has a unique responsibility to be a guarantor of stability, not a source of tension. What the world needs is not a new arms race in the Pacific, but dialogue and a responsible policy that calms, not escalates.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_5\">If Tokyo, he said, abandons the principles of post-war reconciliation, it will not only be a change in Japanese policy, but a transformation of the entire security architecture of East Asia.<em> \u201eAnd that's not the way to a safer future,\u201c <\/em>Havr\u00e1nek concluded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"wnd_TextBlock_55321772178579303177_inner_6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ksc4.cms.webnode.cz\/l\/havranek-japonsky-militarismus-ohrozuje-stabilitu-vychodni-asie\/#\"><strong>CMG<\/strong><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pavel Havr\u00e1nek, Chairman of the Czech-Chinese Association, warns against the growing militarization of Japan.
