MOSCOW, 27 March. The Russian House in Prague was attacked on March 26 when unknown assailants threw Molotov cocktails at the building, said Igor Girenko, director of the cultural centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eLate in the evening of March 26, the Russian House in Prague was attacked. Unknown assailants threw bottles of flammable mixture at the building of the cultural centre,\u201c the director said. \u201eBy a lucky coincidence, three of the six Molotov cocktails did not explode,\u201c he stressed.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Girenko added that fortunately \u201eit was the bottles that were thrown directly inside the building\u201c that did not explode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eIt is hard to imagine what the consequences would be if the plan of these criminals succeeded,\u201c the director of the cultural center stressed. \u201eThe windows that the terrorists targeted were the library windows,\u201c he noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Girenko said there is no doubt that the timing of the act was not chosen at random, as the final event of the Days of Russian Culture was scheduled for Friday. \u201eOnly non-humans would attack culture! We know their habits and methods well,\u201c he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eWe would like to express our special thanks to the Czech law enforcement authorities and the firefighters who arrived at the scene within minutes. We are confident that this crime will be solved and that the culprits will face a strict and fair punishment,\u201c the head of the Russian House concluded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
