Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Sunday that the new national development plan under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) will bring new opportunities to the world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

China, he said, remains committed to being a pillar of security and a port of stability for the world. Li made the remarks in a keynote speech at the opening of the China Development Forum 2026 in Beijing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that China will strive to promote high-quality development and maintain stable economic growth. At the same time, it will continue to create a favorable business environment, fully implement equal treatment for foreign investors, and allow companies from all countries to develop in China with confidence and realize their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Market openness<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Li stressed the importance of creating new market growth and said protectionism is not a one-size-fits-all solution to global economic problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

History shows, he said, that every time the world economy has emerged from difficulties to prosperity, it has not been through fighting for existing market shares, but by creating \u201enew markets\u201c through openness and technological progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Li called for maintaining the spirit of openness and innovation, expanding free trade and actively promoting innovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that China's imports and exports are conducted as fair trade within the rules and that the country will unwaveringly push for high-quality opening up to the world, increase imports of quality foreign products and work with partners on balanced and optimized trade to expand the global economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competition and cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of healthy competition and cooperation, which bring mutual benefit and win-win results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eOnly if we view competition positively and encourage cooperation through concrete actions can we strengthen each other and leverage our strengths,\u201c <\/em>he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to him, China's competitive advantage in the relevant sectors is not due to subsidies or protectionism, but to long-term deepening of reforms, development based on innovation and hard work of Chinese people and enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that China rejects uncontrolled, irrational and harmful competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The country will continue to promote a fair competitive environment and stands ready to strengthen communication and coordination with all partners to ensure the stability and security of global industrial and supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking to the future, Li emphasized three key words: trust, responsibility and action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future of the world, he said, requires a joint effort by all countries and individuals. \u201eNo one can stand alone and no one can prosper alone.\u201c<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
