Petr Macinka leaked an interview with President Petr Pavel and the world will never be the same again,\u201c Holec declares dramatically right at the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video, shot by a fawning female general staff officer, shows Petr Pavel in a nostalgic mood as he recalls his military uniform and his beginnings in the 601st unit in Prost\u011bjov. \u201eI try not to suffer from nostalgia... my favourite thing is to remember my beginnings,\u201c reflects Petr Pavel. Petr Holec, however, criticizes it. It also evokes indoctrination from the communist era. He mocks Paul's key leadership trait - \u201etaking care of his people\u201c - by linking it to his wife's cushy job at the Castle, where she receives 100,000 crowns a month, despite her unsuitability for the job. \u201ePetr Pavel's whining is really unworthy of a president,\u201c Holec criticizes, suggesting that Pavel could incognito disrupt a NATO summit with accreditation for Daily N or join protests in a sleeping bag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is happening amidst the heightened tensions over a possible NATO summit in Ankara. Pavel has aggressively asserted himself as head of the delegation, leaving Prime Minister Andrej Babi\u0161 little room to maneuver. \u201ePetr Pavel played it so hard and uncompromisingly that he basically gave Andrej Babi\u0161 little chance to back down,\u201c Holec analyses. Babi\u0161 counters, \u201eI can't imagine what he would do with us there.\u201c Holec warns that Pavlov's anti-Trump rants - for example, he has said of Trump that he is a \u201erepulsive being\u201c and that Trump is more damaging to NATO than Vladimir Putin - could sabotage Czech interests, especially in coordination with the US ambassador. Security protocols prohibit joint flights between the president and prime minister, but Pavel is considering breaking them. \u201eThis is no longer about Pavel possibly embarrassing himself, but he could actually harm the Czech Republic there,\u201c Holec warns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
