Prime Minister Andrej Babi\u0161 continues his tour of the countries of Central Asia. On Tuesday, 28 April and Wednesday, 29 April 2026, he visited Kazakhstan. In Astana, the capital, he held talks with President Kasym-Zomart Tokayev and Prime Minister Olzhaz Bektenov, mainly on economic issues, including oil and uranium supplies, and together with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havl\u00ed\u010dek, he also visited the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the National Scientific Centre for Cardiac Surgery, and inaugurated the Czech-Kazakh business forum, which was attended by 200 businessmen from both countries.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main topic of the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan was the further development of mutual economic relations between the two countries, especially securing supplies of strategic raw materials. Kazakhstan is the leader of the Central Asian region, has great natural resources, including oil and natural gas and uranium ore, and offers many opportunities for Czech companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eKazakhstan is an important strategic partner for us in the field of energy and minerals. We discussed the possibility of a long-term contract for oil supplies, as well as the possibility of further involvement of our companies and the overall deepening of business cooperation. The Czech Republic and Czech companies have a great sound here and the potential for further export opportunities is huge. It was also a great honour for me to receive one of the highest state awards in Kazakhstan, the Order of Friendship, from President Tokayev, I appreciate it very much,\u201c<\/em>\u00a0said Babi\u0161.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The meeting with the highest representative of Kazakhstan was also an opportunity to support Czech companies.\u00a0\u201eI personally presented President Tokayev with Aero Vodochody's offer for twelve state-of-the-art Czech L-39 MG aircraft. OMNIPOL also offers its products here, such as L-410 NG aircraft.<\/em>,\u201c Babi\u0161 said. Nearly 200 companies with Czech participation are currently operating in Kazakhstan and the volume of trade between the two countries is growing rapidly. Last year it reached CZK 35 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prime Minister Babi\u0161 supported Czech exporters at the Czech-Kazakh business forum, which was attended by 200 entrepreneurs from both countries. \u201eThis is a clear signal that the cooperation between the Czech Republic and Kazakhstan has concrete content and great potential for the future,\u201c<\/em> stated Prime Minister Babi\u0161. Our companies have concluded a number of documents with their Kazakh counterparts, among them - Memorandum on the establishment of a joint venture between Teplosnab-NS and ZVVZ Engineering, a.s., Memorandum of Understanding between OMNIPOL GROUP and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Memorandum of Understanding between the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan and EGAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Babi\u0161 and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havl\u00ed\u010dek also visited the International Centre for Artificial Intelligence and the National Scientific Centre for Cardiac Surgery in Astana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
