On 13th October 2024, a race day took place at the racecourse in Pardubice, ending the 134th year of the Great Pardubice with Slavia Insurance. After the successful course of the entire race, the spectators were treated to a very interesting duel between Jaroslav Myška on Sexy Lord and Jan Faltejsek on Godfrey in the finishing straight. The result is a pair of winners after a very close race.
The Jockey Club of the Czech Republic states that the personnel of the race committee and the performance of its functions, as well as the use and operation of the target camera, are the responsibility of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic and not of the racetrack. At the finish of race 134. Pardubice with Slavia Insurance Company, the finish photo of the race was not taken due to an error of the person operating the finish camera. In the absence of a finish photograph, the race committee had to judge the finish on the basis of all other available photographic and video material. Therefore, the final approval of the result of the race took an unusually long time.
On the basis of the analysis of the above mentioned photographic and video materials the race committee came to a decision on the current race time. "If two horses run through the finish line at the same time, so that even with the help of the finish photograph (film) the judge cannot decide at the finish line which of them is the winner, he shall mark the run as "simultaneous victory". The same applies to placed horses ("simultaneous finishing") even in the case of multiple horses running the same time. If two horses finish first, the next horse behind them is placed third. If three finish in this way, the next one is fourth, etc. The same rule applies to placed horses".
Jockey Club CZ further states that the verdict on the final ranking of 134. Grand Pardubice with Slavia Insurance was communicated by the race committee through the finish judge to the racing secretary by radio only once and quite correctly, including information about the simultaneous victory of both pairs. However, this information was initially not accurately interpreted directly by the race participants and spectators, and for some time there were general questions about the actual order of the race.
The Council of the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic will evaluate this case and adopt specific conclusions.

The race jury could not decide according to the target photo and after studying other camera footage they found two horses running at the same time. "If two horses run through the finish at the same time, so that even with the help of the finish photograph (film) the judge at the finish cannot decide which of them is the winner, he shall mark the run as "simultaneous victory". The Racing Association respects this decision of the Racing Commission and congratulates both winners.
