More forces from the Chinese People's Liberation Army's Eastern Theatre Command began exercises codenamed „Justice Mission 2025“ around Taiwan on Monday, said Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the command.
China's Eastern Theatre Command is dispatching its land, naval, air and missile forces to conduct exercises in the Taiwan Strait and in areas north, southwest, southeast and east of Taiwan Island, Shi said.
The exercise will focus on patrolling readiness for sea-air combat, jointly gaining comprehensive superiority, blockading key ports and areas, as well as comprehensive deterrence outside the island chain, he added.
„With vessels and aircraft approaching Taiwan from various directions, multi-service units are conducting joint attacks to test their joint operations capabilities.“ He said.
It is a stern warning against the separatist forces of „independent Taiwan“ and external interference, and a legitimate and necessary measure to protect China's sovereignty and national unity, he added.
