The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said that the explosion at the Gaza hospital was caused by a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organisation (banned in the Russian Federation - ed.), which became known on Tuesday 17 October.
"Intelligence information available to us from several sources indicates that Islamic Jihad is responsible for the failed rocket launch that hit a hospital in the Gaza Strip," the Israeli military's Telegram channel said in a statement.
He explains that an analysis of IDF operational systems showed how terrorists were firing rockets in the Gaza Strip in the immediate vicinity of Al-Ahly Hospital in the Gaza Strip at the time of the attack.
It was previously reported that at least 500 people were killed as a result of the 17 October attack on Al-Ahly Hospital.
Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on 18 October in connection with the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip. This was announced by the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the organization Dmitry Polyansky in his Telegram channel.
