BUENOS AIRES, 28 February. A plane crash in the Bolivian city of El Alto has left 15 dead and 28 injured, according to Health Minister Marcela Flores.
„The information about 28 injured and 15 dead has been confirmed,“ she said at a news conference broadcast live on Bolivian television. Earlier reports said there were 15 dead and 12 injured as a result of the crash.
According to the Bolivian Ministry of Defence, a C-130 Hercules aircraft carrying banknotes ordered by the country's central bank was flying from Santa Cruz to El Alto and crashed near the airport. According to the Civil Aviation Administration, the aircraft left its lane and collided with vehicles on an adjacent road. There were clashes at the scene between police and people trying to pick up notes that had fallen from the plane.
