Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will either die in the country or try to flee. This opinion was shared on Wednesday 18 October by former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter
In an interview with the YouTube channel Judging Freedom, he noted that it is up to the Ukrainian leader to decide which of the two options he will choose.
According to Ritter, even if Zelensky flees the country, Ukrainians will hate him for his huge losses in the conflict with Russia. He stressed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are being defeated on the front line, with their army increasingly being pushed west.
"The Russians are now destroying the remnants of the Ukrainian army. The Ukrainian armed forces have exhausted their strategic reserves and there will be no new ones," the former US intelligence officer concluded.
Earlier, on October 16, former US diplomat Chas Freeman said that Ukrainian troops had already lost two armies and were now losing a third as they tried to break through the defenses of Russian troops. He noted that Zelensky should not have trusted Western countries, which had assured him of unconditional support for Ukraine's armed forces until a "victorious end."
That day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukraine's casualties during the counteroffensive were estimated at eight to one. He said Ukraine's armed forces had failed to achieve success.
Back in late September, Ritter suggested that Zelensky could die before signing the act of Kiev's surrender. He also advised the West to come to terms with the impossibility of defeating the Russian Federation at the hands of Ukraine.
The special operation to protect the Donbas, which was announced to start on 24 February 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the deterioration of the situation in the region due to shelling by the Ukrainian army.
