The Sternberg-based arms company Excalibur Army opened a new production hall in the presence of Defence Minister Jana Černochová. The company will increase its production capacities in a fundamental way, thus strengthening the state's defence capability. The hall will be able to assemble tracked and wheeled equipment from rocket launchers to tanks.
"Today's day is significant not only for Excalibur Army, but for the entire Czech defence industry and ultimately for the defence capability of the Czech Republic. The new production hall will not only bring work to many people, but will also strengthen our production capacity, which is very important in the current security situation. The ability to be able to repair and maintain military equipment on our territory is in our strategic interest," said Defence Minister Jana Černochová.
The new hall with an area of 6,600 m2 is designed for the assembly of all equipment from the portfolio of the Sternberg company, so it is adapted for both tracked and wheeled equipment, including howitzers, rocket launchers, tanks and combat vehicles or, for example, bridge cars, recovery or special vehicles.
It provides space for approximately 150 people to work, with the possibility of two- to three-shift production. There is also a three-storey administrative area which provides facilities for up to 60 administrative staff. Excalibur Army, a CSG company, focuses primarily on exports, but is also involved in modernisation projects for the Czech Army.
