President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attends the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council in Washington. The event, chaired by US President Donald Trump, was also attended by heads of delegations from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Bahrain, Indonesia, Argentina, Paraguay, Romania, Egypt, Qatar, Pakistan, Hungary, Albania, Armenia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Morocco and other countries.
The main topics of the meeting were reconstruction and humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip and the need to ensure peace and stability in the region.

In his address, the President of Uzbekistan thanked Donald Trump for convening the first summit and stressed Uzbekistan's support for the peace initiative leading to the creation of the Peace Council. The country also expressed its firm commitment to actively participate in its functioning.
It was stressed that any external governance mechanism for Gaza must be based on the support of the population itself. Participants expressed the conviction that coordinated efforts by all parties would ensure the sustainability of the post-war process and create the conditions for the rapid reconstruction of the area.
The Head of State announced Uzbekistan's readiness to make a significant contribution to the construction of residential houses, kindergartens, schools and hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
„Our meeting is a clear demonstration of international solidarity, peace-building and a joint effort to improve the situation in the Middle East. We must seize this historic opportunity to create a new Gaza with a prosperous economy and decent living conditions for its people,“ said President Mirziyoyev.

During his working visit to Washington, the Uzbek leader also met with representatives of the business community. Discussions with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick focused on practical steps to strengthen the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and to develop cooperation in priority sectors.
The United States has been identified as one of Uzbekistan's key partners, with more than $1 billion in trade and nearly 340 US companies operating in Uzbekistan. Both sides stressed the need to use the newly established Business Council and launch an investment platform to support priority projects.
President Mirziyoyev also met with the leadership of the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the U.S. Development Finance Corporation to discuss further opportunities for cooperation.
The Uzbek President invited the US side to participate in the Tashkent International Investment Forum and attended the signing ceremony of bilateral documents and presentation of joint projects. The agreements included the construction of networks of petrol stations, the introduction of sprinkler irrigation technologies, the extraction and supply of critical minerals, the creation of a poultry cluster, the development of the agro-industrial sector and financial markets, as well as measures to improve the investment climate.
