Prague Zoo presents a unique project in its outdoor spaces Light Zooprepared by Garden of Lights. It is an educational exhibition where light creates unforgettable spaces full of colours and shapes in a darkened area. On Sunday, December 1, Zoo Prague will light the Christmas tree in Veselovsky Meadow. From 15:30 to 16:30, all visitors will be admitted for a symbolic 50 CZK.
Until mid-February next year, visitors can look forward to more than 100 lanterns in the shape of animals and plants that will transport them to wild Africa. Thousands of lights will also light up the trees or special photo points across the zoo's lower grounds each day. There is also a 70-metre-long light tunnel or interactive projections.
A separate admission fee applies for the Light Zoo. The ticket office and the entrance to the exhibition can be found a short walk from the main entrance, under the city bus turntable behind the Ocean Restaurant. Parking is available at a reduced rate of 50 CZK. Thanks to a special route, the exhibition is also accessible for people with disabilities.
It is open Monday to Thursday from 17:00 to 20:00, on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 17:00 to 21:00. The Light Zoo will remain closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.

Prague Zoo lights the Christmas tree and introduces this year's orphans
On Sunday, 1 December, Zoo Prague will light the Christmas tree in Veselovský meadow. Visitors can look forward to the traditional procession to the tree, the nativity scene and the presentation of the new adoption campaign. The Christmas atmosphere will also be evoked by carols performed by a children's choir. From 15:30 to 16:30, all visitors will be admitted for a symbolic 50 CZK.
Zoo Prague will welcome visitors at 16:15 at the Education Centre near the main entrance. Afterwards, the parade will march towards the lower part of the Prague Zoo grounds to Veselovský Meadow. Before the Christmas tree is lit, Zoo Prague will present its campaign this year. Adopt me!
Thanks to the adoption campaign, so-called animal orphans, i.e. animals without an adoptive parent, can find their patrons. This is not only about gaining new supporters, but also about introducing the public to species that are often overlooked despite their uniqueness. An adoption list can thus be a meaningful and original Christmas present. Advent will be accompanied by carols from the Osmikvítek children's choir.
