In his speech, Karel Nedbálek, a member of the Czech-Chinese Association and a lawyer, emphasised the importance of a non-ideological and practical approach to relations between the Czech Republic and the People's Republic of China. According to him, cooperation between the two countries should be based primarily on mutual understanding, trust and concrete benefits for citizens.
According to Nedbálek, the Czech-Chinese Association was founded with the aim of creating a platform for education, cultural exchange and economic cooperation. It emphasises connecting companies, institutions and experts, but also complementary economic activities that enable the financing of public benefit projects. Key areas of cooperation include scientific and technological innovation, green transformation and market openness.
The association's activities also include the preparation of a new publication with the working title China and us. The book aims to map the history of Czechia-China relations, introduce personalities who participated in the cooperation, and highlight the importance of cooperative thinking in the past and present.
According to Karel Nedbálek, the publication aims to show that cooperation is not an abstract concept or political slogan, but a collection of specific human stories, long-term relationships and commitments. He believes that continuity, trust and practical benefits are the key to the successful development of Czechia-China relations in the future.
