On 30 October, a session of the Global Dialogue on Innovation, Openness, and Shared Development - Uruguay was held in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay. The event was co-hosted by China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Embassy in Uruguay.
Director General of CMG and Deputy Minister of the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China Shen Haixiong spoke via video message. He stressed that CMG will work with global partners to create an open platform for dialogue and cooperation. „China's development cannot be achieved without the world and the prosperity of the world needs China. CMG stands ready to join forces with all partners to build a community with a shared future for humanity,“ Shen said.

Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay Huang Yazhong recalled the long-standing friendship between China and Uruguay, which serves as a model of mutual respect and cooperation between countries with different political systems, economic scales and cultural traditions. He expressed China's readiness to deepen its comprehensive strategic partnership with Uruguay.
Minister of Defence of Uruguay Sandra Lazo stressed that dialogue is an important opportunity to strengthen the exchange of experiences and cooperation between nations. In today's challenging world, she said, it is essential to strengthen dialogue and international cooperation in order to maintain stability and mutual trust, and reaffirmed Uruguay's commitment to work with China to promote peace, innovation and sustainable development.

Participants also discussed the significance of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the development opportunities China shares with the world. The event concluded with a screening of the CMG documentary „The Path to Chinese Modernization“, which gave the audience an insight into China's development path.
