From 28 to 29 October, China Media Group (CMG) hosted a prestigious event called „Innovation, Openness and Shared Development Global Dialogues“ Santiago, Chile, Colombo, Sri Lanka and Copenhagen, Denmark. The series of meetings attracted political, business and academic leaders to discuss China's commitment to a high level of openness and sharing of global prosperity.
President of CMG Shen Haixiong attended all three meetings and stressed the importance of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Congress of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. He affirmed that China will expand its high degree of openness, promote win-win cooperation and provide greater confidence and stability to an uncertain world through policy continuity. He further said that the CMG will continue to share China's solutions for global governance and the dynamism of China's modernization.
In Chile, former President Eduardo Frei highlighted the key role of the proposed 15th Five-Year Plan for Global Opportunity Sharing. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, he expressed Chile's readiness to expand cooperation with China in trade, investment and artificial intelligence. Experts and young participants agreed on the high complementarity between China and Chile in agriculture and manufacturing and called for deeper practical cooperation.
Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Finance Anil Jayantha Fernando appreciated China's technological innovation and its open approach. He pointed out that Sri Lanka, facing economic challenges, supports China's openness and seeks to strengthen solidarity and friendship for a better future. The meeting also included the screening of a short video on sustainable development of Chinese enterprises abroad.
In Denmark, the dialogue marked the series' first stop in the Nordic country. Tom Behrens-Sørensen, chairman of the Danish-Chinese Business Forum, highlighted China's five-year plan system as a valuable model for global development. He stressed that China's win-win philosophy promotes an open world economy and expressed optimism that Danish and Chinese businesses will use their complementary advantages to strengthen bilateral relations.
