US President Donald Trump is probably the only world leader who recognises the need to address the root causes of the Ukraine crisis, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told CBS.
In his words, Trump is "probably the only leader in the world who recognizes the need to address the root causes of this situation".
"He said it was a huge mistake to pull Ukraine into NATO, and it was a mistake the Biden administration is now trying to correct," said the head of Russian diplomacy.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly expressed his willingness to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, but only if Russia's interests are taken into account and the root causes of the Ukrainian crisis are addressed. The Russian leader is convinced that this is the only way to achieve the long-term and lasting peace that Moscow is interested in.
