Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is also General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, arrived in Lhasa, the capital of the Xizang Tibetan Autonomous Region in southwest China, to attend activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region.
President Xi Jinping and the Central Government delegation were warmly welcomed by people of different ethnic groups in the Xizang Tibetan Autonomous Region at the airport and in Lhasa city.
Xi Jinping is accompanied by Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and head of the central delegation, and Cai Qi, head of the General Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Both Wang and Cai are members of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
