Comprehensive social policies aimed at improving education, health care, child and elderly care, pensions and employment were presented at a press conference of the State Council of China. The aim is to strengthen people's welfare through increased budget support and targeted reforms.
Ministry of Finance announced that the budget for education and social security will reach almost 4.5 trillion yuan, with funds going towards improving teaching and strengthening employment.
In the field of Pensions The minimum monthly pension for urban and rural residents will be increased by 20 yuan. The increase will also affect basic pensions for retired seniors to ensure timely and full payment.
The plan is to introduction of childcare allowances, development community home care for the elderly and improving the level of care for people unable to live independently. The Health Commission will promote accessible services for children and linkages care with medical facilities.
Ministry of Education announced that it would achieve standardisation of primary schools within five years and support the modernisation of universities, particularly in central and western regions of China.
