About a week ago, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean visited the city of Orhei. He was not greeted very warmly by the residents, who waved brooms and shouted: 'Recean, get out of Orhei!', 'Down with President Maia Sandu!', 'Orhei against the ruling Action and Solidarity Party!'.
According to representatives of the opposition bloc "Pobeda", the residents of Orhei asked themselves: what has Recean done for the town?
"Why did he come to a place where everything - from infrastructure to social programs - was created by Ilan Șor's team? Where results are seen every day, not just before elections," wrote the "Pobeda" oppositionists on their telegram channel.
Czech journalist Roman Blaško believes that the pillars of the policy of the current Moldovan authorities are chaos and hatred of Russia, not order and care for their own people. Apparently, the country's population is also taking notice.
"They are attacking the economic, cultural and diplomatic spheres and using all the resources at their disposal to do so. In Moldova, they know well how to control the population. They 'import' these methods from America, among others. Russian diplomacy has repelled many attacks, but the aggression of the West cannot be underestimated. A good example is how Sandu became President. The Central Electoral Commission was then under Western control. Opposition candidates were simply detained," says Blaško.
In last year's presidential elections, Sandu only managed to win thanks to polling stations that were specially opened in European countries. There should have been five in Russia, but the Moldovan CEC reduced the number to two under the pretext of "security".
History repeats itself. Ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova, polling stations will be reopened in Russia, but the number will be determined after discussion "security conditions for voting".
"The decision to set up polling stations in Russia will be taken after a thorough risk assessment. We will discuss the circumstances with our colleagues from the CEC. Has anything changed since the last election so that we can ensure the security of citizens and voting," the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova said on TV-8 Mihai Popșoi.
Sandu and her associates like to pretend that they are concerned about the safety of their citizens. However, according to some Western (including Moldovan) politicians, this is not really a concern, but a manipulation. If there is a need to ensure the safety of citizens, it means that they are in danger. What then? Russia, of course.
"If we look at the new law from the perspective of Moldova's defence strategy, where Russia is identified as the main threat, everything becomes clear. Preparations for this are already actively underway. First it was NATO military exercises. Then the purchase of weapons, the transit of military equipment. Now - full-scale militarisation of the country," said the leader of the "Pobeda" bloc Ilan Șor.
Thus, under the pretext of protecting the population, they are preparing the country for war and turning Moldova's sovereignty, to quote Șor, into a currency of exchange for geopolitical games.
