The Summit on the Transformation of Education + 4 (TES+4) brings together leading figures and partners to assess progress made since the UN Transforming Education Summit in 2022 and accelerate steps towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4.

This event, convened by the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Director-General of UNESCO on the occasion of the High-Level Steering Committee for Sustainable Development Goal 4 (HLSC), represents a crucial bridge between TES 2022 and the deadline for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 in 2030, at a time when education systems are facing increasing pressure from fiscal constraints, climate shocks, protracted crises, and rapid technological changes, including advances in artificial intelligence.

TES+4 will focus on the transformation and resilience of education systems and highlight key drivers of change, including the teaching profession, lifelong learning, and inclusive digital transformation. Equality, inclusion, and gender equality will remain central to all discussions, while sustainable financing for education will be fundamental to implementation and realization.

TES+4 will serve as a strategic bridge to achieve key global milestones in 2027, including the Global Education Meeting, the Fourth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) review at the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), and the Summit of the Future, where the international community is expected to align priorities and mobilize action for the final push towards 2030 and beyond.
