PRAGUE – The SPD movement is preparing proposals for changes to the current social system. According to SPD Chairman Tomi Okamura, these changes should primarily benefit people who find themselves in difficult life situations. Key groups that the SPD wants to focus on include single parents, elderly individuals living alone, and people with disabilities.
Okamura stated that, according to the SPD, the current social system needs changes that better take into account the individual circumstances of each person. The goal is primarily to provide greater support to citizens who have limited opportunities to secure sufficient income on their own. "The SPD is preparing adjustments to the current social system in favor of single parents, elderly individuals living alone, people with disabilities, and other people who find themselves in difficult life situations," Okamura said.
According to the SPD, single parents are a significant group. They often face a combination of costs associated with housing, childcare, and daily expenses, while the household relies solely on one main income source.
