TEL AVIV, July 17. The Israeli unicameral parliament, the Knesset, has approved a bill on self-dissolution as part of preparations for early parliamentary elections scheduled for October 27th, according to the news portal Ynet.
The law on party financing, which contained this provision, was passed overnight in the second and third readings. It was supported by 62 out of 120 lawmakers, with no abstentions.
The parliamentary recess will begin on July 17th. The next official session of the newly convened parliament will be held after the elections.
