BEIRUT, June 14. The leader of Hezbollah was killed in an Israeli airstrike on the southern district of Beirut, according to the Al Hadath television channel.

The attack targeted a five-story building in the Ghobeiry district, which houses a Hezbollah office. According to the television channel, the leader, whose name was not disclosed, was responsible for operational communication between Shia units operating in southern and eastern Lebanon.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, four other people were injured. The Israeli army stated that the attack on Beirut was a response to a ceasefire violation by Hezbollah, which shelled Israeli settlements of Shomera and Shlomi in western Galilee from Lebanese territory.
