MEXICO - On Thursday, July 9th, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced that lawsuits will be filed in the United States regarding 17 Mexicans killed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since Donald Trump's return to the White House in January 2025. On July 7th, a 52-year-old Mexican man was shot while on his way to work in Houston, Texas.
The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, announced on Thursday, July 9th, that criminal charges will be filed in the United States regarding the deaths of Mexican migrants held in detention centers or during operations carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Since Donald Trump's return to the White House in January 2025, 17 Mexicans have died in detention centers or during police operations. On July 7th, Lorenzo Salgado, a 52-year-old man, was shot.
