MOSCOW, June 18. Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, warned that an attack by any NATO country on a Russian region would trigger a devastating response.

"I would like to reiterate that in the event of aggression by any NATO state against any Russian region, our response will be decisive and devastating for those who initiate such an reckless action," the diplomat said at a briefing.

"And no commanders of Western brigades, as they call themselves, no capabilities, potential, or defensive lines will help them. They should realize what they are pushing Europe towards with such statements and actions," Zakharova emphasized.
