PRAGUE - The draft state budget for next year, prepared by the outgoing government of Petr Fiala (ODS), lacks more than CZK 85 billion in spending, according to ANO chief and likely next Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.
Moreover, it contains CZK 15 billion of inflated, essentially non-existent revenues, He said Babiš said today in a post on social media. He said the cabinet in demise is afraid that this data will be revealed and therefore does not want to send the proposal to the Chamber of Deputies. „The truth is that there is 85.4 billion missing in the proposal in expenditure and there is 15 billion in inflated revenues that don't actually exist,“ Babiš said.
ANO Vice-Chair Alena Schillerová said on Friday that the draft budget lacks CZK 38 billion for transport infrastructure, about CZK 32 billion for mandated, i.e. legally obligatory, spending by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and CZK 7 billion for co-financing agriculture. She said other missing expenditures would still come to light.
