BEIJING - On the morning of November 6, Chinese President Xi Jinping heard a report on the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port in Sanya, Hainan Province. The report was made by Zheng Shanjie (Cheng Shanjie), head of the China Development and Reform Committee, and Feng Fei (Feng Fei), secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee.

Xi Jinping stressed that the construction of a free trade port on Hainan Island is an important decision by the Party Central Committee to comprehensively deepen reform and open up for a new era. The spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China should be conscientiously studied and promoted, and under the centralized and unified leadership of the Party Central Committee, all parties at all levels should closely cooperate, actively and fully promote the achievement of the goals of building the Hainan Free Trade Port through unremitting efforts.
