NEW YORK - The theme of this year's World Population Day is "Fulfilling the hopes and dreams of young people – today and for the future."
The theme draws from a new report based on one of the largest global surveys of its kind, capturing the views of over 108,000 young adults aged 18 to 39 who are connected to the internet in 73 countries. The report, titled "Lives, Choices and Futures: What do young people want and what shapes their decisions about relationships and parenthood," offers a global overview of what today's young adults want from relationships, family life, and the future – and what they feel is holding them back.
