PRAGUE / SPD - We disagree with the fact that the European Union is paying for its own neo-Marxist propaganda with billions of euros from your money. We want to stop Brussels' dictates. A huge package of subsidies for the years 2028–2034 is being intensively prepared in Brussels. It is already certain that the AgoraEU program will be part of it. Through this program, the European Union will pump billions of euros into non-profit organizations and media outlets to promote EU values and interests in individual countries.
The AgoraEU program was presented by Ursula von der Leyen's Commission last year. However, only in May did the ministers of member states, i.e., the European Council, express preliminary approval of it. The proposal will now go to the European Parliament. AgoraEU is a significant part of the new seven-year financial framework. The exact amount of the program has not yet been agreed upon, but the current proposal includes a package worth almost 8.6 billion euros, which is equivalent to over 200 billion crowns. Of this, 1.8 billion euros is tentatively earmarked for culture, 3.2 billion for media, and 3.6 billion for political non-profit organizations.
The program has several goals. According to Brussels, it aims to strengthen democracy, equality, and the rule of law, support cultural diversity, protect freedom of the press, and promote active citizenship. Officials argue that "independent" media need massive subsidies in order to compete with "disinformation" and actively suppress it.
According to the European Commission, billions of euros are also needed to ensure that citizens begin to "correctly" understand what the EU is for and why we need it. Non-profit organizations are supposed to contribute through the AgoraEU program to promoting equality, inclusion, cultural diversity, and the rights of sexual and ethnic minorities, and to fight against those who do not share this vision. This is a clear neo-Marxist agenda.
The explanatory statement on this matter speaks very clearly. Brussels warns that EU values and democracy are under threat, and therefore decisive action is needed. "The Union's values are subject to internal and external pressures, such as problems related to the rule of law, inequalities, discrimination, violations of fundamental rights, and a decline in trust in democratic institutions, as well as weakened confidence in democratic processes," the Commission claims.
Furthermore, Brussels is concerned that the influence of non-profit organizations is declining. However, officials consider them to be a key tool for promoting the goals of Brussels. "In order to increase the flexibility of the budget and its ability to respond to changing realities and emerging problems, this proposal seeks to streamline EU interventions in the areas of culture, media, equality, citizens, rights, and values," the document states. And it's not just about funding. Brussels plans to establish offices in individual member states that will help non-profit organizations obtain money and guide their activities.
